For the Minimizing Game Day 18, I got rid of more of my clothing. Even though I already went through my closet only about a week ago, I wanted to do it again. Most of this is old underwear and bras, but I did have more than one revelation. While I love flowers and flower images on some home items, I hate flower prints on myself. I also gave up one blouse I liked, but it got a stain a few years ago, and I haven’t been able to get it out, so clearly I won’t be wearing it again.
For the Minimizing Game Day 17, we have a toys of way more than 17 pieces known as Magic Trax, including all the cars, ramps, and whatnot. The last time the kids played with it was Xmas 2019, and even that was not in the slightest bit enthusiastically. When I asked if they wanted it, they wouldn’t even look in the bag. Gave to a local parent with younger kids.
For the Minimizing Game Day 16, I had to go through all the stuff the kids had in their school desks last spring. My older son found his lost marbles (prompting way too many bad jokes from me), but other than that, everything else was trash. It was more than 16 pieces, but I didn’t bother to count.
For the Minimizing Game Day 14, I cleaned out my younger son’s closet. Actually, I also went through my older son’s closet, but didn’t get rid of any of those clothes, as they will go to the younger. In any case, here are two pairs of pants, one jacket, one sweater, and eleven shirts. I want to add some were size 2 (he’s 6)!
For the Minimizing Game Day 14, I have 4 empty card tins, 6 games (the one on the top is cut out of the photo, but I donated them before I realized), and 4 plastic toys.
For the Minimizing Game Day 13, I got rid of 12 rubber ducks and the plastic box I kept them in. My kids are almost 10 and 6, and they both take showers. Also, when I picked these up to determine whether I should get rid of them, I realized they hadn’t had the water squirted out of them the last time they were used, which was probably about 8 months ago. I was grossed out and threw them out right away.
The Minimizing Game Day 12 consists of my kids’ rock collection that I found in on of their drawers. I just threw these out into the yard. (Also, I think I didn’t count them correctly and there’s more than 12 but whatever!)
For the Minimizing Game Day 11, we have (going clockwise):
- The entire world (a blow-up globe the cat attacked).
- Folder from school.
- Subpar hammer.
- Tongue depressor given to kid as a “prize.”
- Broken pencil cap.
- Small jar of goo.
- Small festive ball.
- Encouraging sticker.
- Bad-luck vote sticker.
- Parrot sticker.
- Doohickeys in a bag.
For the Minimizing Game Day 10, I found calcium chews that expired in 2014, rice that expired in 2016, a terrible knife block, and 7 rusted knives.
For the Minimizing Game Day 9, I have:
- Dried-out baby wipes from five years ago probably.
- Cheap lipstick is cheap and awful.
- Nicer brand but hate the color.
- Love the color but it’s old and hardly any left.
- Mostly gone powder.
- Travel toothpaste that is older than probably both my kids.
- The lice comb I had to use on my older son for a month four years ago.
