For the Minimizing Game Day 10, I found calcium chews that expired in 2014, rice that expired in 2016, a terrible knife block, and 7 rusted knives.

For the Minimizing Game Day 9, I have:
For the Minimizing Game Day 8, I went got rid of four of the kid’s last coloring books, because I have come to accept they don’t like coloring books, and haven’t used them in years. Also, four books from my childhood that I have come to accept the kids just don’t want.
For the Minimizing Game Day 7, I cleaned out my closet, something I do exactly twice a year. Everything from this day hasn’t been worn in way more than six months though. Items are folded in the photo, but it features two pairs of pants, one skirt, two tops, and two t-shirts.
For the Minimizing Game Day 6, I have:
For the Minimizing Game Day 5, I have five dental-related things: two floss-holders and two timers (don’t worry, we have many, many more) and a jar that I thought I’d re-purpose, but it’s been on the shelf almost a year.
For the Minimizing Game Day 4, we have 4 used glow sticks. I swear I haven’t bought glow sticks in at least a few years, but they keep turning up. If I find anymore in my fall cleaning, I’ll eat them.
For Day 2 of the Minimizing Game, I have two toys from Burger King. It had been so long since we had fast food, I forgot they gave toys with the kids meals and thus forgot to say “boy.” Not that I would care if they wanted they to play with but they super did not want these figures.
For the Minimizing Game Day 1, I have a bright orange lanyard. I have no idea where it came from, but I know where it’s going. Not in my house.
It’s hard to believe, but September is just a few short days away, and I usually do my biannual sorting through of all my worldly possessions in March and September. In March, the month that seems like it was just a few days ago, I really struggled to finish. I think it was mostly due to stress and changing from an office worker whose kids are at school 8am-6pm to a work-at-home person who also has to homeschool their kids.
I have a lot of thoughts about how this major life change that may or may not be permanent has affected me, but that is for another time. For now, I’ll say I am adjusted to my new life enough to be able to sort through my belongings next month. Let’s see how it goes.
